The arcane and lore uncovered by the Iron Empire are particularly deep and complex, and it is believed that only a very small part has yet been understood. One of the darkest secrets of the lost Aegyptian civilization are the death scarabs. Discovered by the high Necro Priestess Nephahrya herself, these creatures instantly turn the body of any living thing they enter into some kind of undead puppet at the command of their necromancer master.
When Nephahrya heard about the astounding prowess of a young sniper named Mortaria Noctis, she hatched a crazy scheme. After several years of complex research, the two deadly women have been able to create a bullet that contains one of these scarabs... This feat made Mortaria instantly famous among the Iron Empire's high society, and turned her into some sort of dark heroine capable of taking control of the highest ranking enemy officers and thus, of their troops, with just a single shot.
THE IRON EMPIRE (IE) The Iron Empire is made up of exiled people that have somehow stumbled upon necromantic knowledge from alien pharaonic gods. They combine Prussian and Germanic influences with some kind of Aegyptian cyber necromancy that allow them to raise the dead and create bio-mechanical aberrations.
Mortaria is one of those archetypal characters that RH does so well; In this case the cool-as-ice hitwoman. As such, she could fit neatly into almost any science-fiction game from Infinity to 40k, and many pulp, horror, or alternative history games.
The sculpt is elegant and understated. The castings were crisp, with very little flash, and required the bare minimum of filling on assembly.
One point that isn't immediately obvious from the photos is that she's carrying a wicked-looking knife behind her back. . .
Highly recommended for anyone who needs an assassin.
It looks exactly like the picture and the detail is amazing. Like all the Raging Heroes minis she is a bit tall and slender next to a heroic scale model, but I pick up these models so that the characters stand out in my army, so the proportions don't matter nearly as much as the presence.
The cast is simply amazing but the scale for a 25mm base is a bit small, I only left 4 stars because the store description did not mention the scale of the model and only the base and I assumed the model would be a bit bigger.
The resin model is done in true scale but since the character is so slender she seems to thin. It won't go with a heroic scale system to well but the white metal should be marginally bigger.
