Cyberwolf mount coming soon!

posted October 12, 2011

"Conan! What is best in life?"
"To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the deafening howl of your Cyberwolf!!"

Take Conan's word for it, nothing beats a giant Cyberwolf to ride endless frozen wasteland, howl at the moon when you've got the blues, and shred your fiercest opponents to pieces.

Our Cyberwolf will be a giant wolf made to stand on a large base and meant to accommodate a rider on its back. The armor plates have been left blank on the concept but they will be decorated with Celtic ornaments on the final sculpt.

The Cyberwolf should be available in about one month. It should be made of resin. Initially, we were going to do a single wolf with fully customizable posing, but the feedback we've received so far as well as price considerations have led us to the planned release of three different wolves, with some posability.

Would you field one in your army? More than one? Tell us what you think in the comments below!

  • This is hands-down the absolute BEST Cyberwolf out there. Very much looking forward to seeing the final product. I’ve got a friend who plays Space Wolves and this is precisely what he’s been looking for. GREAT WORK!

  • Very excited for the Cyberwolf and Gluttony, and I’ve sent ideas for more minis. I also have some ideas for the rest of the Seven Sins models.

  • I would certainly use these for Chaos mounts, but not Space Wolves.

I feel like SW mounts should have a more natural feel, with fewer cybernetics, more fur, and the cyber-parts should be in a different style. More brass rod and guitar wire, less rivets, spikes and sharp edges.

Perhaps keep this design and work on a second more natural feeling one as well?

  • Hey, I just saw the 3d model on TableTopGamingNews.com.

There’s a lot to like about it, but… it looks too intelligent, like it shouldn’t suffer a rider. The muscles and face appear to be influenced more by comics than nature.

Overall it has the most personality of any cyberwolves that I’ve seen, and I’m looking forward to seeing it posed. I just wouldn’t mind seeing it a bit more wolf-like and a bit less cyber-Wiley E. Coyote (although that was the best episode EVAR).

    Keep up the great work!

  • I suggest you forgo strong Celtic decorations along the lines of the (highly silly) Scibor models. A simple, clean mechanical design will satisfy a much larger consumer base. Providing Celtic ornaments that are removable is the perfect middle ground. You’d be surprised how many people would buy a cleaner cyber wolf but would be turned off by overzealous decorations they couldn’t opt to leave off.

  • @Reg: Yes to both questions!

  • I am seriously looking forward to your interpretation of the thunderwolf. Are there plans for it to be on the same size base as Canis Wolfborn and will rider legs be available? Thank you

  • @russ:
    Great!!!
We plan to release them in boxes of 3, and each will be about the size of a GW juggernaut…

  • absolutely wonderful.

  • @nick:
The Conan reference is just a joke. It has to do with one of the most famous line of the very first Conan movie with Schwarzenegger. If you’ve never seen it, check it out, it’s definitely the best Conan movie ever made. And there is also a truly awesome soundtrack by the late Basil Pouldouris.
WIP pics: Patience my friend, they’re coming… Because it can create false impressions about the final sculpt, posting WIP pics is always a delicate matter, as tiny tweaks can lead to huge changes…

    @Mahavira:
At this point, we don’t think we’ll put a rider on the wolf, however, we’ll provide legs to make it easier to adapt the character of your choice on its saddle.

  • I love the model, but are there plans for riders? I think Kapitan Kurganova would be a good candidate, but I think she’d need a resculpt for the lower body.

  • I’m confused. Why would Conan ride a cyber wolf? Bizarre reference guys. And if this is coming so soon, why no work in progress pics at least?

  • well it will certainly fill that cyberwolf shaped hole in my Wolves army….
