Asharah 28mm is cast: Photos and review

posted February 21, 2010

Well, this has been quite a journey! Producing these first three minis will have been a much more challenging endeavour that we would ever have imagined. It also has been way longer than expected since we originally planned to have Asharah’s Command Group released at the end of… September 2009!

So now, the Asharah 28mm casts are finally here! Since we feel our work is an ongoing process that we constantly strive to improve, we wanted to share with you our impressions about this eagerly awaited and best-selling mini from our first production run.

We’ve already received great feedback from some of our customers, so you might find that that some of the remarks below are nit-picking. But we want to be able to provide the best possible quality, which is why we’re already thinking about what we can do better next time.

  • Everyone I have shown the assembled Asharah to thinks it is awesome, including my experienced gaming buddies. The general concensus is that the mini has a very dynamic, dramatic pose that you don’t often see with minis from other ranges, and “for Warhammer she would totally own the battlefield”. One of my buddies runs a Warhammer Dark Elf army and definitely wants her to lead it. He did make a comment, not wishing to fill your heads with more ideas, that she would look awesome on a chariot. In fact, thinking about it, her pose would already fit this. Hmm, might have a root around in my bits-box this weekend, see if I can find some wheels…

  • We just saw this post from Dalamar on the Druchii.net forum and we wanted to share it with you:

    Asharah arrived today, assembling.
    comments:

the tag (the metal bit at the bottom of the miniature for those who don’t know) requires complete removal to properly base the model (otherwise her foot is sticking far forward instead of being supportive one in one line with the body)

standard filing of mold lines required, nothing new here.

miniature possesses little pins at right points (Avatars of War don’t… and some of their miniatures fall apart way too easily) and some are even shaped differently to help with proper assembly (really nice)

Overall very nice model, comparable to best GW models maybe even a notch higher.

    I recommend.
And also ordered the standard bearers. Very Happy

    Thanks Dalamar!
